In addition to the foregoing published obituary, I offer the following information. She was born Janet Louise Nickerson in Cape Cod Hospital on 27 Dec 1927, which birth is recorded in Chatham, the daughter of Roy Wilworth 9 and Edith Vivian 10 (Nickerson) Nickerson. Her Nickerson lineages are:

Father: Roy Wilworth 9, Kosciusko 8, Bangs 7, Stephen 6-5, William 4-3-2-1

Mother: Edith Vivian 10, Rufus 9-8, Zenas 7, Silas 6-5-4, William 3, Joseph 2, William1

Her Native American roots come through Jane Maker, wife of Silas 4 Nickerson, and Lydia Maker, wife of William 3 Nickerson, both descendants of the Native American wife (Rachel) of James 1 Maker, who was a member of the Potenumecot band of the Nausett tribe of the Wampanoag Nation. Janet was particularly known for her great philanthropy, her very good humor, and her gregariousness. She was long-time membership chair of NFA, and, in that capacity, corresponded with literally thousands of Nickerson cousins. She was most proud that she numbered among her grandchildren some of African-American descent, and of Chinese descent, and she quickly entered them among the members of NFA.
