We will never place the family tree online in searchable files. The reasons include (1) the fact that we have over 100 years of research done by lots of people with a lot of sweat, and we want to make sure that their work is properly acknowledged--which is done through our publications; (2) it is the sale of our publications that keeps the organization solvent; (3) much of our database includes living people, and we will not post such data.
All data is available for research by genealogists at our Center, and we will share appropriate data one-on-one through the query process, both by e-mail and snail-mail, to appropriate individuals. Our policy has been one of sharing--we wish to receive data in exchange for providing data. And yes, we will provide line of descent data free to all who ask.
